What is baby colic ?
Baby colic, is one of the most common causes of visits to a healthcare provider during the first year of an infant’s life.
Baby colic, also known as infantile colic, is defined as episodes of crying for more than three hours a day, for more than three days a week, for three weeks in an otherwise healthy child.
Often crying occurs in the evening.
Colic isn’t a disease and won’t cause your baby any long-term harm, but it’s a tough thing to go through for babies and their parents.
The cause of colic is unknown. Some believe it is due to gastrointestinal discomfort like intestinal cramping.
